Design Trends for 2019
Sage green is everywhere
Flip through Pinterest and you’ll
know why. The grayish green hue is easy to work with, blending
seamlessly with wooden furniture, distressed fabric, prints, and
metallic finishes.
Black accent walls
In high-traffic areas, like the kitchen
or living room, black accent walls are not just trendy but also
functional as they hide stains. If you’re using it in other spaces
of the home, remember that it makes the space appear compact. You
may want to add mirrors or reflective surfaces to bounce light
off.
Statement ceilings
Look up, not down! This trend is taking
ceilings to new heights as home owners wallpaper, tile, texture or
decorate the ceiling to make it stand out. Call it the fifth wall,
if you will!
Natural, light woods
From bedrooms to bathrooms, natural
woods bring the outside in. For many of us who spend the day
staring at a screen, using the organic colors of nature can be
soothing at home. Try natural, light woods on the floor and on
furniture. It blends best into a minimalist setting.
Curved furniture pieces
Sometimes, trends come full circle.
A comfy curved couch, a beautiful arched wooden beam, a rounded
coffee table, circular mirrors, or curved-back armchairs...there
are always plenty of ways to blend this interior design trend into
your space.
Terrazzo walls
Terrazzo is basically marble chippings set
into cement and then given a smooth finish. The speckled patterns
are not just for floors anymore. They can be seen on tables, lamps,
and even printed wallpaper and fabric.
